Pretty in purple

For my final effort I used the uncoloured image and printed it 3 times to create a layered effect. I coloured it with distress inks and mounted it onto Lelli-bot papers. I cut the flourish dies out of the same papers and stamped a sentiment onto vellum, finished off with gems from my stash.

In a tangle

Here is another Digi challenge entry, this time using 'tangle' technique matted and layered onto black card and then mounted on Lelli-bot card stock with 3 buttons from my stash

Gentle

Lelli-Bot Crafts, a lovely new company, have been running a digi challenge and the following are my attempts!!  If you haven't come across them before then check out their website and on Facebook, you are missing a treat.

I wanted to create a muted and soft image. I used the uncoloured digi and painted it with distress inks, matted and layered onto mirri card and mounted onto embossed card stock coloured with the same distress inks. Finished off with a ribbon from my stash and Lelli-bot buttons.

Don't faint, I've blogged!!

Ok I admit it, I am the most useless blogger ever!!!  I really do mean to get on here more often but my excuse is my laptop is in my craft room and I get distracted by all my stash!!

Anyway, here goes.

I have been a busy little bee whilst I've not been on here.  Lately with some wonderful goodies from Lelli-Bot Crafts.  You simply have to visit them.  There is such a variety of kits to suit all tastes and budgets.

This is my first card I made using the Radiant Butterflies kit.  I was a bit nervous sharing it with them on Fb, because the standard to cards etc is so high, but I needn't have worried.  Everyone said lovely things about it and then today I find I have won 'Make of the week' :-)  I am one very happy crafter.

One of the options of the kits is the full works, which is the one I chose and it includes oodles of papers, card stock and masses of lovely embellishments.  All I had to add was glue and gems!!

Anyway I am going to stop now and I promise faithfully I will try to blog soon!!

Green and Orange!!

Recently I got asked to make a card for someone where the brief was green and orange and flowers!!

Having completely thrown me at first I then got slightly carried away and did 3 for her to choose from!!

The first one was using some of my stash from Kanban, where the colours were just right and the image is so pretty.  A gatefold card seemed the obvious use of these images

The next one was from Creative Crafting World's cd rom 'A walk in the countryside'.  It started out as a tunnel card but progressed into what you see below.  This time the colours were more subtle but still fitted the brief

The final card was a real blow out!!  I seemed to throw everything at it!!  I used the Tonic Petal Pair punches to create the flowers, the hougie board came out for the rosette and I embossed the backing paper with a free gift from a craft magazine.  I also created a complimenting box for it to.

Imagine my delight when my friend decided to have all three cards.  The last one for the original order but the other two for friends she had birthdays coming up for.

Thank you for reading and I'll try to be back soon

New Projects

I have been a busy little bee, unfortunately, not all of it crafting, but I guess that's life

A good friend of mine has moved away so I made her a couple of gifts to take with her to personalise her new room

The first was using my trusty Cameo with only some bling added

The second one was using Craft Artist 2, which is a programme I adore and can't praise highly enough.  I printed the end result out onto canvas paper and it looks amazing :-)

I also got commissioned to make a card for a friend's daughter's birthday.  Again I turned to Serif, because he wanted a photo he'd taken to be used.  However I created a topper with it and then made an easel card for her with a matching box.

I have some more photos to share with you, but I need to do a bit of sorting out first!!  Hopefully, blog soon :-)

I am SO sorry!!

When I set this up I really meant to post at least once a week.  However, my laptop had other ideas and promptly died!!  However I am now back in the 21st century and up and running.

I thought I would share a couple of cards made for my other half's birthday.  He is an engineer and works a lot on vintage machinery and vehicles.

The first one, from me, was cut with my Silhouette Cameo, which I must confess I adore :-)  The cogs didn't look realistic enough so I coated them with nail varnish and then applied a crackle nail varnish on top which made them look suitably metallic.

The next card, from his mum and dad, is a photo of our Scammell Pioneer taken into Craft Artist 2 and cut out and placed on top of a more sympathetic background and then embellished with colours to match.  The sentiment used as a stopper was cut on the Cameo in miri board and again slightly larger in black.

I was pretty pleased with both of these, and he loved them, which was the most important thing!!

Hopefully there will be no more disasters to prevent me posting again soon!!

Thank you for looking xx
